Applications are invited from eligible candidates for filling up of 320 existing vacancies in the rank of Sub-Inspector of Police (AB) for newly created Assam Commando Battalions in the pay scale of Rs. 14000- 60500 (Pay Band No. 2) plus Rs. 8700/- Grade pay plus other allowances as admissible under the rules

A) Sub Inspector (AB) Male & Transgender - 314 posts 

i. There will be reservation for OBC/MOBC – 27%, SC- 7%, ST (P)- 10% & ST(H) -5%.

ii. Ten percent (10%) reservation for persons belonging to EWS who are not covered under the scheme of reservation for SCs, STs and OBCs.

B) Sub Inspector (AB) Female - 6 posts 

i. There will be reservation for OBC/MOBC – 27%, SC- 7%, ST (P)- 10% & ST(H) -5%.

4. Educational qualification : The candidate must be a graduate in Arts, Science, Commerce or equivalent stream from a recognized College/ Institution affiliated to a recognized University.

5. The candidate must satisfy the following criteria.

a) Nationality :Candidates must be Indian Citizen, permanent resident of Assam.

b) Candidates must register his/her name with a local Employment Exchange of Assam.

c) Candidates must speak Assamese or any other State language fluently.

Candidate should not be more than 24 years and less than 20 years of age as on 01-01-2021 (Candidate must be born on or before 01-01-2001 and on or after 01-01-1997).

Documents Required:

i. Certificate of proof of age. (Admit Card of H.S.L.C. / equivalent examination)

ii. Pass Certificate & Mark sheet of Graduation (BA / B. Sc / B.Com or equivalent examination). 

iii. Employment Exchange registration card.

iv. Certificate of Sports person to avail 5% reservation of posts & age relaxation as mentioned in Para I (C) & II (d) (iii) above respectively. 

v. Certificate of Caste from Competent Authority. No Caste Certificate Issued By Other States Will Be Accepted.

vi. Permanent Residential Certificate.

vii. Transgender Certificate issued by Competent Authority, if any. 

viii. EWS certificate, if any from Competent Authority. 

General Instructions to the candidates

(i) Based on the aggregate performance of the candidates in the Written test, Physical Test, and Psychometric Test, selection will be made category-wise for the post of Sub-Inspector (AB) subject to the condition of successful completion of their character and antecedents verification and satisfactory Medical report from the competent authorities. The total numbers of finally selected candidates will be equal to the numbers of the existing vacancies advertised.

(ii) The candidates who are employees of Govt. / PSUs / Autonomous bodies must obtain necessary permission in writing from the Competent Authority / Employer and a copy of the same may be produced during scrutiny of documents on the date of PST / PET.

(iii) On selection, candidates will be put through a prescribed course of training for 1 (one) year which includes regular physical training and class room session. During the period of training, they will be treated as probationary SI (AB)of Police and will be entitled to get usual pay and other allowances.

a. Those who fail in the final examination after completion of training or are involved in gross misconduct or indiscipline will be liable to be discharged forthwith without assigning any further reason.

(iv) Candidates selected for the post of Sub-Inspectors (AB), may be posted in any branch of Assam Police. (v) Canvassing directly or indirectly shall render such candidates unfit for the post. (vi) No TA / DA will be admissible to candidates for the journey and stay at any stage of the recruitment process.

(vii) The selection list confers no right to appointment unless the department is satisfied about suitability of the candidate after a thorough medical examination and such enquiry and verification as may be considered necessary before appointment to the service / post.

(viii) Candidates have to appear in all the stages of recruitment. If a candidate is absent from any stage / event, his / her candidature will be cancelled.

(ix) Candidature will be summarily rejected at any stage of the recruitment process, if found not conforming to the official format / having incomplete information / wrong information/incomplete requisite certificate/misrepresentation of facts / impersonation.

(x) The select list will remain valid for appointment from date of announcement of the result for one year or till the date of next advertisement of similar post whichever is earlier.

(xi) On appointment, the candidate shall be governed by the Assam Police Act, 2007 and Rules and Orders of the Government issued from time to time.

(xii) Appointed persons shall be entitled to pension benefits as per the pension scheme existing at the time of appointment.

(xiii) The Chairman, SLPRB, Assam reserves the right to make changes or cancel or postpone the recruitment process on specific grounds.

(xiv) The physical tests are strenuous and candidates who are in proper medical condition only should take the tests. The SLPRB will not be liable for any injury or casualty suffered by a candidate during the tests due to any pre-existing medical condition of the candidate concerned.

(xv) Fake documents / false information / misrepresentation of facts shall lead to rejection if detected at any stage before / after appointment and shall make the candidate liable to criminal proceeding as per existing law.

(xvi) Selected candidates shall have to sign an agreement whereby he / she will be required to serve a minimum period of 3 (three) years after successful completion of training or in default to refund the cost of training and travelling expenses paid by the government.

(xvii) Offering of bribe or any favour by a candidate or by any individual on behalf of any candidate is a criminal offence. Such an activity shall result in immediate disqualification of the candidature of that particular candidate.

(xviii) In case of any clarification, the decision of the Selection Board will be final.

Selection Process :-

1. Candidates whose applications are found correct in all respect will have to sit in written examination. Candidates numbering only 5 times the number of posts in respect of each category will be called for PST (Physical Standard Test) and PET (Physical Efficiency Test) on merit basis.

2. If any candidate is found to have any physical deformity as may be detected by the Medical Officer present in the Recruitment Board, he/ she will be debarred from participating in the other tests.

3. The written test will be of 100 marks and will be completely OMR based. There will be 100 questions and each question will be of 1 (one) mark. There will be negative marking of ½ mark for each wrong answer.

4. The questions will be set in three parts (i) Logical reasoning, aptitude, comprehension (ii) Matters relating to History and Culture of Assam and India and (iii) General Knowledge. Candidates will use black or dark blue ball pen to answer the OMR based answer sheet. Duration of the test will be of 3 (three) hours.

5. The question paper for Written Exam will be in the following languages. Assamese/ Bodo/ Bengali/English.

Steps to Apply :-

2. The online application will be received with effect from 22-12-2021 and the last date of receiving application will be 21-01-2022.

3. Candidates must follow the following steps during submission of online application:

i. Register in the Portal using valid mobile number. (Note: Candidates are advised to keep the mobile number unchanged until the recruitment process is over)

ii. After successful registration candidates will get an Assam Police Recruitment ID. Candidates will have to apply for any posts advertised through SLPRB during the year 2021-2022 by logging in with this ID.

iii. Candidates will register their profile in the application portal once for all. However, the candidature of those candidates will be cancelled who generate multiple recruitment ID.
