Press Council of India (PCI) 2021 Jobs Recruitment. Press Council of India has released official notification for the job openings of Assistant Section Officer and Junior Translation Officer vacancies. Check the eligibility and notification prior to apply for the positions.

Applications are invited from eligible Indian citizens to fill up the vacancies for the posts of Assistant Section Officer (Group B Non-Gazetted) in Press Council of India whose details are as under:-

Age: 20 to 30 Years


General Instruction :-


1. Candidates should possess the prescribed educational qualification as on the closing date of application.


2. Candidates are required to fill the admit cards as per annexure II of the vacancy circular. They are also advised to read the general instructions as mentioned in the admit card carefully.


3. Candidates serving Government/Public Sector Undertaking are required to send their applications through proper channel.


4. Applications which do not meet the criteria given in the advertisement and/or incomplete applications are liable to summarily rejected.


5. Candidates furnishing any particulars that are found to be false, tampered, fabricated or suppress any material/information while submitting the application and self-certified copies/testimonial, will stand disqualified.


6. The number of posts advertised may vary, and the Secretariat of the Council reserves the right not to fill up some or all the posts advertised, if the circumstances so warrant.


7. All candidates should have fulfilled the minimum eligibility as on the closing date of submission of application.


8. Candidates called for written test shall do so at their own expenses. No TA/DA shall be paid.


9. Candidates are required to fill the columns of Admit Card enclosed at Annexure-II in their own handwriting and forward it alongwith the application form.


10. Along with application, candidates shall send an envelope containing their address upon it on which the admit card should be sent with the application form.

Selection Process :-


1. Objective Type (200 Questions)tier-1


a) General Intelligence and Reasoning 50 Questions and 50 Marks


b) Quantitative Aptitude 50 Questions and 50 Marks


c) General Awareness 50 Questions and 50 Marks


d) English Language & Comprehension 50 Questions and 50 Marks

There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the question.


2. Descriptive Type (Tier-II): Descriptive paper in English or Hindi of (Writing Essay/Precis/Letter/Application etc.): Maximum mark - 100 and Time allowed: 60 Minutes


Note:-l The Council reserves the right to add an additional Tier in the scheme of Examination.


NOTE:-II: Candidates are not permitted to use Mobile Phone, Calculator, bluetooth device or any other electronic/electrical device for answering any paper. Candidates must not, therefore, bring Mobile Phone, Calculator or any other electronic/ electrical device inside the Examination premises. Possession of these items, whether in use or not, will be considered as "use of unfair means" in the Examination and candidature of such candidates will be cancelled forthwith. Such candidates are also liable for debarment upto a period of 3 (three) years.


Steps to Apply  :-


The eligible and interested persons are required to submit their application in the attached proforma alongwith self-attested copies of the certificates, date of birth, experience, etc. to the Secretary, Press Council of India, Soochna Bhawan, 8 CGO Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi- 110 003 latest by 1st February 2021. Only such applications as are accompanied by the requisite proforma (Annexure-I), Annexure-II and envelope will be considered.
