1. Applications are invited from eligible Indian citizens having following eligibility criteria for recruitment to the post of Staff Officer–cum-Instructor in Civil Defence Organisation, West Bengal under the department of Disaster Management and Civil Defence, Govt. of West Bengal. Staff Officer-cum-Instructor in Civil Defence Organisation, West Bengal under the Department of Disaster Management & Civil Defence, Govt. of West Bengal in the Pay Scale 7,100 – 37,600/- (i.e. Pay Band-3) + Grade Pay Rs. 3,600/- plus other admissible allowances.

2. Recruitment To The Post Of Staff Officer-cum-instructor In Civil Defence Organisation, West Bengal Under The Department Of Disaster Management And Civil Defence, Govt. Of West Bengal - 2019

3. Educational Qualifications: The applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or its equivalent.

4. Language: - The applicant must be able to speak, read and write the Bengali language. However, this provision will not be applicable to the persons who are permanent residents of hill subdivisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong Districts

Age: The applicant must not be less than 20 (twenty) years old and must not be more than 39 (thirty nine) years old as on 01/01/2019.

Application Fee :-

All categories except Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (of West Bengal only) - Rs. 270,Scheduled Caste (West Bengal only)- NIL (Processing FeeRs. 20),Scheduled Tribe - Nil (Processing FeeRs. 20).

Other Instructions :-

i) Defective/incomplete applications/applications with fuzzy or improper photographs of a candidate or unintelligible/undecipherable signatures will be summarily rejected.
ii) Each candidate should submit one application form only. Candidature of those who submit more than one application form will be summarily rejected and the number of application fees will be forfeited.
iii) In case of any mismatch of data between application form filled up by the applicants and supporting testimonials at any stage of recruitment, the candidature will be summarily rejected.
iv) Application Forms shall be rejected in case the uploaded signature of the applicant is rendered in block letters/unintelligible/does not match with name of the candidate or is otherwise incomplete.
v) Admission to the examination will be purely provisional subject to verification of eligibility at a later stage. Therefore, the candidature of any candidate shall be rejected straightway if found not eligible at any stage, even after an appearance in the tests /examinations or publication of results.
vi) Candidates dissatisfied with his /her Physical Measurement Test (PMT) during the field test, may appeal in writing before the Chairperson of the Selection Board/Committee on the same day of his /her test. No appeal in this regard will be entertained in the future. The height of a candidate may be re-measured at any stage including the Personality Test at the discretion of the Board and the decision of the Board shall be final and binding on the candidates.

Selection Procedure :-

1. The selection process by the West Bengal Police Recruitment Board is transparent and purely merit-based. Hence, the applicants are advised to beware of the unscrupulous elements, racketeers, touts who may misguide the candidates with false promises of getting them selected on illegal consideration.
2. The posts of Staff Officer-cum-Instructor in Civil Defence Organisation, West Bengal under the Department of Disaster Management & Civil Defence, Govt. of West Bengal shall be filled up through open competitive examination comprising of Four (04) stages. A candidate is eligible to appear in the next stage only if he/ she passes through the previous one. The stages are :- a. Preliminary Examination, b. Physical Measurement Test (PMT) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET), c. Final Competitive Examination and d. Personality Test.

Steps to Apply :-

1. Application Forms may be submitted through on-line or off-line modes between 24.11.2019 and 24.12.2019 (5 PM).
2. The last date of receipt of filled-in Application Form through postal services (for off-line applicants) is also 24.12.2019 (5 PM).
3. The last date of deposit of Application and/or Processing Fees in respect of only the applicants applying through on-line using United Bank of India challan will be 27.12.2019 during banking hours, due to technical reasons.
4. Applicants must visit the websites of West Bengal Police (www.wbpolice.gov.in) and website of Director of Civil Defence (http://wbdmd.gov.in/Civil_Defence) to ascertain the eligibility criteria in detail, method of selection, scheme of examination, procedure for submission of application form and other terms and conditions.
5. Off-line Submission:- The off-line Application Form must be downloaded using the website www.wbpolice.gov.in and http://wbdmd.gov.in/Civil_Defence/CD_Default.aspx through any available Cyber Café or Personal Computer with internet connectivity. Online Submission - Applicants will be able to submit the application using the website www.wbpolice.gov.in and http://wbdmd.gov.in/Civil_Defence/CD_Default.aspx by filling up their information and uploading of recent scanned photograph and signature.
