Defence Research and Development Organisation - DRDO 2019 Jobs Notification. DRDO has released official jobs openings of Research Associate, Junior Research Fellow vacancies. Check the eligibility and notification prior to apply for the positions.

Other Qualification Details :-

Research Associate -

1. Essential: A doctorate degree (Ph.D) from a recognized university/Institute in Remote Sensing/Computer Science/Electronics and Communication, with at least one research paper in Science Citation indexed (SCI) Journal. OR M.Tech with first division in Remote Sensing/Computer Science/Electronics and Communication with three years research or teaching experience with at least one research paper in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) Journal.

2. Desirable: (i) Working experience of snow, avalanche and glacier related research work. (ii) Proficiency in using GIS and Remotes Sensing based software's (ERDAS, ArcGIS, ENVI, QGIS etc). (iii) Knowledge of geo-spatial modeling techniques.

3. Stipend Rs. 54000/- Plus HRA

Age: 35 Years.

Junior Research Fellow -

1. Qualification :

a. Essential: Post graduate Science degree in first division (both at graduate and post graduate level) with NET/GATE in the fields of Remote Sensing/GIS/Geomatics/Geo-informatics. OR ME or M.Tech in first division (both at graduate and post graduate level) in the fields of Remote Sensing/GIS/Geomatics/Geo-informatics/Computer Science.
b. Essential: M.Tech in First division (both at graduate and post graduate level) in Electronics & Communication/Electronics & Instrumentation/Electronics Engg.
c. Post graduate Science degree in first division (both at graduate and post graduate level) with NET/GATE in the fields Atmospheric Sciences/Meteorology/Physics/Environmental Science
d.Essential: ME or M.Tech in first division (both at graduate and post graduate level) in the fields of Remote Sensing/GIS/Geomatics/Geo-informatics/Computer Science. OR Post graduate Science degree in first division (both at graduate and post graduate level) with NET/GATE in the fields of' Remote Sensing/GlS/Geomatics/Geo-informatics/Computer Science.

2. Desirable:

a. (i) Good Working knowledge of different Remote Sensing & GIS software’s (e.g. ERDAS, ArcGIS, ENVI etc). (ii) Experience of field work, preferably in snow/glacier regions. (iii) Good working knowledge of Hyper spectral technology, Geospatial modeling, etc
b. (i) Computer knowledge.
c. Desirable: (i) Exposure/good working knowledge of different Remote Sensing & GIS Software’s (e.g. ERDAS, ArcGIS, ENVI etc). (ii) Good working knowledge of SAR technology, Geo-spatial modeling etc. (iii) Experience of field work, preferably in glaciers. (iv) NET/GATE qualified.

3. Pay Scale : 25000-31000/- p.m

General Instructions :-

1. The fellowship will under ‘No circumstances’ confer on the fellows any right of regular appointment in this establishment.
2. One candidate can apply only for one fellowship as per their Essential and Desirable qualification.
3. Candidates will be required to produce all certificates/testimonials in original during the interview.
4. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview/joining, irrespective of the selection.
5. No govt. accommodation would be provided by the organisation to the candidates.
6. The number of fellowships may increase or decrease depending upon the prevailing requirement.
7. The candidates shall be shortlisted for the interview on the basis of their score of national written test or NET/GATE and percentage of marks obtained in minimum qualifying degree.

Interview.

Steps to Apply :-

1. Type written application with complete bio-data and attested copies of Mark sheets/Certificates, caste Certificate, Experience certificates, publications if any addressed to Director, Snow & Avalanche Study Establishment (SASE), Research & Development Centre (RDC), Him Parisar, Sector 37-A, Chandigarh (UT) should be brought at the time of Walk-in interview along with a recent passport size photograph, duly affixed on the right top corner of the first page of application. Candidates working in Govt/Public Sector Undertaking/Autonomous Bodies should bring NOC from their employer at the time of walk-in-interview.
2. Maximum age 28 years for JRF and 35 years for RA and relaxation in age for 05 years for SC/ST and 03 years for OBC as per govt. rules.
3. For field data collection, the selected person will have to regularly visit and stay in the snow bound, glaciated region of Himalaya, as per requirement.
4. The positions are purely temporary. The offer of fellowship will not confer any right for regular appointment/absorption in DRDO. The period of fellowship will not count for the purpose of seniority, other Govt benefit in DRDO in case of appointment at a later date. The fellowship may be terminated any time during the tenure with a prior notice of one month.
5. Desirous candidates appearing for a walk-in interview are required to report at SASE-RDC, Chandigarh as per the following schedule:- (i) Applications would be accepted up to 1000 hrs. (ii) Initial screening and verification of testimonials would be done between 1000-1100 hrs on the respective interview Date. (iii) Interview of the screened/shortlisted candidates would take place from 1100 hrs onward.
