Central Institute of Classical Tamil CICT 2019 Recruitment Notification. CICT has released official notification for the positions of Professor cum Deputy Director, Reader cum Research Officer, Lecturer cum Junior Research Officer vacancies. Professor cum Deputy Director -

Scale of Pay : PB4 (37400- 67000) Grade Pay 10,000(AGP).
Educational and other qualifications required :
1. An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in Tamil or Linguistics or Comparative Philology or psychology or Education or Sociology or Anthropology or Folklore or Statistics or Indian language and literature and published work or high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of ten publications as books and/or research/ policy papers.
2. A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in University/College and/ or experience in research at the University/National level institutions/industries, including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level.
3. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology – mediated teaching learning process.
4. A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) set out in the UGC Regulations on Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education 2010.
5. An outstanding professional, with established reputation in the relevant field, who has made significant contributions to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, to be substantiated by credentials.

Age: Not more than 50 years

Reader cum Research Officer -

Scale of Pay : PB3 (15600- 39100) Grade Pay Rs.8000 (AGP).
Educational and other qualifications required :
1. Good academic record with a Ph.D degree in Tamil or Linguistics or Comparative Philology or Psychology or Education or Sociology or Anthropology or Folklore or Statistics or Indian Language and Literature.
2. A Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).
3. A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University/College or Accredited Research Institutions/Industry excluding the period of Ph.D research with evidence of published work and a minimum of five publications as books and/or research/policy papers.
4. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology-mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided doctoral candidates and research students.
5. A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator(API) based performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) set out in the UGC Regulations on Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers and other Academic Staff in Universities and Colleges and Measures for the Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education 2010.
6. Proficiency in any Indian Language as a subject at the secondary school level in the case of Master of Arts in Linguistics or Comparative Philology or as a subject at the degree level in the case of Master of Arts in subjects other than Linguistics or Comparative Philology. (In the case of Master of Arts in subjects other than Linguistics or Comparative Philology, the teaching/research experience must be in language oriented topics.

Age: Not exceeding 40 years

Lecturer cum Junior Research Officer -

Scale of Pay : PB3-(15600- 39100) Grade Pay 6000 (AGP).
Educational and other qualifications required :
1. Good academic record with a Ph.D degree in Tamil or Linguistics or Comparative Philology or Psychology or Education or Sociology or Anthropology or Folklore or Statistics or Geography or Indian Language and Literature with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in the relevant subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.
2. In addition to fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the University Grants Commission, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.
3. Notwithstanding anything contained in (i) and (ii) above, the candidates who are or have been awarded a Ph.D Degree in accordance with the UGC’s Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D degree Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment to this post.
4. NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Master’s Programmes in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.
5. Proficiency in any Indian Language as a subject at the secondary school level in the case of Master of Arts in Linguistics or Comparative Philology or as a subject at the degree level in the case of Master of Arts in subjects other than Linguistics or Comparative Philology. (In the case of Master of Arts in subjects other than Linguistics or Comparative Philology, the teaching/research experience must be in language oriented topics.
6. Two years experience in teaching/research.

Age: Not exceeding 35 years

Instructions to Conditions :-

1. The details of academic positions for which applications are invited together with age, educational qualification, experience required are detailed in Annexure “A” to this notification. The qualification, experience, age etc. shall be reckoned as on last date for submission of application (which shall be one month from the date of notification of the advertisement).  The age limit shall be relaxed by 5 years for SC / ST and by 3 years for OBC/ PwDs / Ex-Servicemen.  The candidates selected shall be on probation for a period of two years from the date of appointment.
2. Applications for all posts should be accompanied with a non-refundable demand draft for Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD) in favour of Director, CICT Chennai payable at Chennai. The issue of the demand draft shall be within the period of duration of the advertisement. The demand draft enclosed with the application shall not be refunded or adjusted under any circumstances. No other mode of payment shall be accepted and such applications shall be rejected forthright and payment made shall be forfeited.
3. Candidates are required to forward their application in the prescribed format accompanied by required demand draft, evidence of age, community, educational qualifications, teaching / research experience, distinctions, present position, Salary drawn, reprints of publications, copies of testimonials from at least two persons and all other relevant supporting documents for information stated in the application. The copies of the documents enclose shall be duly attested.
4. The Institute reserves the right to place a reasonable limit on the total number of candidates to be called for test or interview. Fulfillment of qualifications per-se does not entitle a candidate to be called for test or interview. The Institute reserves the right not to fill up the posts, cancel the advertisement in whole or in part without assigning any reason and its decision in this regard shall be final.

Selection Procedure :-

1. Interview

Steps to Apply :-

1. Outstation candidates called for Interview will be paid travelling allowances as per the norms prescribed by the Government of India. Candidates in service already shall be eligible to travelling allowance only if they have forwarded their application through proper channel or appear for interview with No Objection Certificate.
2. Incomplete applications / applications without relevant supporting enclosures without prescribed demand draft / applications not in prescribed format will be rejected outright. Institute is not responsible for postal delay and interim correspondence will not be entertained and replied to.
3. Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
4. . Completed applications should be addressed to The Director, Central Institute of Classical Tamil, IRT campus, 100 Feet Road, Taramani, Chennai600113 and should be superscribed on the left hand top corner of the envelope with the details of the posts applied for.
5. The prescribed application shall be downloaded from the Institute’s website www.cict.in.  Completed applications with all necessary documents should reach within 31 days from the date of publication of this advertisement.
